    Default Cirrhopetalum cumingii

    Hi,

this is a lovely species, which is very variable in colors. Last pix shows C. makoyanum, C.brevibrachiatum on top of it for comparison.

    cheers!

Ron, I believe that Cirrhopetalum brevibrachiatum is the one that's below C. makoyanum...

Yes Wally, that just came out wrong in my explanation, i meant "both" are on top.
    anyway, to clear things up,

    top is C.makoyanum
    lower is C.brevibrachiatum
    lowest C.cumingii.

    Thanks for all comments!

Man, it's quite early in the morning and you're already drunk ... From top to bottom is: Cirrhopetalum makoyanum, then the one on the right is C. cumingii, and lowermost is C. brevibrachiatum.

lol Wally, nothing wrong with a good 'ol German breakfast!
that pix turned out to be trickier than intended, as i was holding the C. brevibrachiatum right in the middle.
my main purpose was actually to show the difference to C. makoyanum, which is often confused with C. brevibrachiatum.
    so one last try....

    C. makoyanum is the one top left, with slender tuber-like lateral sepals.

...at least it made a good discussion piece, lol.

Some Cirrhopetalum brevibrachiatum flowers I have seen are actually Cirrhopetalum makoyanum doppelgängers- with slender, tube (or should I say toothpick-)like lateral sepals. But the stelid characters easily set them apart.

Ron, while we're at it, why don't you post photos of the two showing their columns, preferably viewed from the sides?
