    Default Vanda roeblingiana

Named by Rolfe after Charles Roebling, in 1894. Endemic to the mountain provinces of the island of Luzon.

The plant is too big to have the pic taken in my makeshift studio, aka bedroom hence it remained in the grow area.
The lip reminds me of Carmen Miranda 's skirt.
The plant has a lighter form. However I cannot seem to get everything right in posting, so the captions end up in a jumble and not really next to the pics I am describing.

    A superb specimen.
    My favorite Vanda.
Mainly because it grows cooler than most of the others(apparently) & this would give me a chance of growing it to it,s potential.
    Thanks for posting.

hello there ntgerald. I have just scored one of these wonderful vandas for my collection of species vandas and am wondering how you grow it... I heard that they like same temperatures as the V. coerulea but deferent in that they need deep shade???!!!, can you shed some light on this for me? bit confused as my my coerulea is growing perfectly and flowering in the glasshouse which is not heated and experiences anything from 5C to 44C centigrade in winter lows and summer highs respectively.
Hope to hear from you as my plant arrives this week and already in flower!
    Cheers

So, it does need cooler temperatures. I don't know whether they should be needing temps as low as coerulea, though.

    And, bright shade is better.
