    Default Sedirea japonica blooming!

    Not too much blooming right now (time for a trip to the nursery, perhaps?), but after a month of teasing me with a spike that I feared would simply wilt and fade away, this little one surprised me!

    I haven't included a full plant photo - I didn't like any of the ones I took - but the plant sits in a pot smaller than a coffee cup and strongly resembles a mini-phal.

    It has a faint lemony scent, but you have to have your face in it to really get a good sniff. Oh well, it seems happy and may give me more spikes next time around. (In the meantime, I'm contemplating my new Encyclia fragrans - not yet in bloom - and going to buy a bunch of Easter Lilies to pretend they're orchids for the next week or so.)

    Lovely Japanese species!
    Are you going to collect Neofinetia falcata? There are so many varieties of Neof. falcata and some growers really go nuts about them. I collect a few...

    Those are cute! I like them... When you go shopping be careful...those orchids are lurking everywhere! lol A couple followed me home today...along with a free Easter lily.

    Very pretty! Whew~ resisted a big cymbidium this afternoon... Orchids Orchids everywhere!
    Love that plant and great growing Maura! Too Bad can't find any here...

    Very beautiful ! I am really waiting for mine to bloom, it is a big plant with a lot of new growth, probably it will flower next year since it was disturbed at the roots last fall.
