Indonesia Earthquake-April 11 2012

OMG I heard about the massive earthquake off the coast from Bande Aceh this evening! Even though it was 500km away, that is a small distance compared with the rest of the region....i hope every single OT member and other human beings are safe and well, and that no harm will come to you all!

It's a big one 8.7 magnitude! Everyone is on tsunami alert!

The earthquake was massive, tremors were felt in India some 2500 Km away !! It triggered a small quake (3.4 richter) in the Arabian sea roughly 300 kms from my city Pune. Imagine the energy unleashed. I hope everyone remains safe.

According to our local news there was another quake in the same vicinity, of 8.2 magnitude. The first quake was felt all along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia including the state I live in. The NW states (which include my state) have been put on alert and hotels in Langkawi have been advised to move their guests to safer areas. Remember this earthquake originates off Acheh, which was also where the devastating tsunami originated in 2004 that resulted in more than 230,000 killed; 170,000 in Acheh alone.At that time less than 20 people were killed in Malaysia.

Just wanted to let everyone know that there were 2 large earchquakes in Indonesia yesterday - no tsunamis so far, thank God.

How is everyone from around that area - are you okay?

It was plastered all over the news, especially once the Chch people heard of it, they were all frantic and scared it would trigger one down here!
