I do love these. The Orchid flower shape is so beautiful ....
and the colours are so delicate.... and the perfume is just amazing ......

Having got all that out of the way...... I was expecting it to be white! Not that I am complaining - it's beautiful in pastel yellow shades! I haven't been able to find out the parentage yet, but am still trying.

Check your tag again; there is no registered Iwaganaara (or equivalent) with the word "Wonder" in the name.

I have checked the tag & that's exactly what it says, but it might explain why I can't find the parentage... I will be speaking to the vendor soon & will ask him to find out more for me.
Name or no name though - it's still lovely.

When I saw Iwanagara and then your pic I knew your orchid is one of the Appleblossom series. I checked on OrchidWiz and it confirmed it. Jackfowlieara (Jkf.) (sys. Iwanagara or Iana.) Appleblossom is shown there in various pastel colors and yours fits in perfectly. The colors can range from white to yellows to pinks and combinations. I love the color of yours. These develope into beautiful specimen plants and can really get attention from show judges. Thanks for sharing the pic of yours. You are going to love it!

Thank you gardenguysorchids - that's very much appreciated. I will amend the tag, and ask the vendor to confirm with his supplier.
I have an interest in genetics & love to track parentage back to see where certain traits come from, so was finding it a bit frustrating to not find Wonder registered.
It's unlikely that I would be able to attend any orchid shows, but this is certainly one that would tempt me to try when it's a little bigger. I probably wouldn't have bought it if I knew it was going to be yellow, as I really wanted a white, but I'm glad I did - the pastel shades are just what I like. And if it's a relative of my other Appleblossoms... I'm keeping it in the family!

It's definitely an Appleblossom - & very similar to the pic I found online of "Hihimanu". And the scent is coming strongly now. I like it so much I'm tempted to go back & buy a pink one to keep it company - somebody restrain me, please!

I would agree that it looks like an Appleblossom. Just to confuse things, as Bill says, it was Iwanagaara Appleblossum, and with all the name restructuring, it is now Jackfowliera Appleblossum. Doesn't really matter; same thing, new name. Either way it is a great orchid... I just wish they'd leave the names alone!

I think Jackfowlieara may be a fraction easier to pronounce But I also wish they would leave names alone - it's hard enough to get the hang of the names in the first place!
