Darwinara Fuchs Cream Puff x Ascocentrum miniatum

After a nice long weekend with no construction i'm actually caught up enough to post a couple pics. I mounted two mini vanda on a plank of wood about two or three months ago. I may cut the board in half so they can hang separately, but so far it's been handy. Both plants are hybrids of the Darwinara Fuchs Cream Puff. The one not in bloom was crossed with Rhy. coelestis 'Pink'.

Nice one Connie ! I think it is getting a bit too dry for the vandaeceous, may be some moss or coconut husk around might help.

I have Cream Puff. It bloomed for me only once, something I am not doing right.

When I have a plant, half dead that i've tried everything with; I find a nice log or plank of wood and tie them on. I don't usually use anything around the roots as in the past my mounted plants didn't do so well that way. When I just tie them to the plank they attach super fast for me.....and YES I know that isn't how it should be done. For some reason in my back yard it works better with no extra stuff. and after saying all that...I may add a little to this plants roots because I agree with Amey it looks like this one is an exception and could use a little spag or coir fiber.

A interesting hybrid this one, which has not been near my radar. I guess the flower is larger than we would expect on a primary hybid from miniatum, and the colour has come out delightfully . ( Just the same colour as the apricot jam I made last year ! ). Here in UK , all my Neofinetias and their hybrids, including the only two Darwinaras I have, are rooting like mad - which augurs well for flowering time later in the year.
