    Default Phrag. Sorcerer's Apprentice x wallisii IN BLOOM!

    It finally "hatched" The petals aren't as twisty/long as I expected, but this is still a young plant. I wonder if the blooms will get bigger with passing years? I'm quite happy with it though, it's very beautiful! You'll have to excuse the busy background. The flower actually came out better in these than with the black backdrop which I had to hold up with one hand haha

    I love the bit that looks like a moustache!

    Great shots and a beautiful phrag! I love wallisii hybrids they really do produce great flowers.

    WOW! Love that! It looks like Phrag. Grande too!
    The petals get longer even if it already opened. If you want really really long "whiskers" Never let it touch the surface of any thing, then the plant will think it won't have to grow any more because ants and come up and pollinate it.

    I just had to know what the name of this hybrid is and it is apparently called lucy robbins. It is very nice, maybe one for the wish list?

    Thanks for the hybrid name Susie!
    I didn't realize the petals keep growing once it's open, though I do know about not letting it touch anything. I'm excited to see it on Monday then! The spike is probably a good 2' or so above the plant, in a decently tall pot so I'm not too worried about it getting close to the surface of the table
