Vanda teres , as it used to be called. Now is Papilionanthe ( have I spelled that right ? - I'm often not sure, so I dodge it and use the abbreviation P. ).
A top cutting I bought on a certain auction site for a few pennies - just 10 inches high. Has started three or four roots since it arrived last summer, but not yet done much by the way of growing , then suddenly this spike of 4 buds - two of which aborted. But I think it a nice form - not that I have seen it very much here in UK, our weather etc is not terribly suitable . So I thought I'd show it.
As I understand it, even in "vanda territory" it does not produce large spikes of flowers, even on big plants - although no doubt flowers more frequently than I see it.
