    Just opened yesterday for me. I like it although I was hoping for a longer spike.

    It is a beautiful album orchid, but IMHO not wardii. The petals ( laterals) are the wrong shape. Every one I have seen - and apparently the ones illustrated by e.g. Cribb and Braem too, have had petals which droop at a definite angle- see e.g. IOSPE PHOTOS

    ( illustrating the normal, not album form - but of course the difference in pigmentation does not affect the flower shape.)

    Thanks Dorsetman. Yes I have been told this by someone on another forum and the picture that this one came from does not look like this one so I shall be contacting the seller and asking him what is going on.

    I have been advised by other members on another forum that it is indeed a wardii but not an aureum.



    The tag that came with it.

    I have asked the seller to advise me as to what it actually is.
