I have something like 60 orchids, probably more, that I'd like to give away to someone who'd take care of them. A bunch of Cattleyas, including complex hybrids and species, plus lots of others. Mostly high-light and pretty resilient, everything from big-box/NOID phals to Angraecum hybrids and unusual species (Dyakia, several Dendrobium species, 2 varieties of Schomburgkia thompsoniana, a C. warczewiczii var 'Katia', etc.). If you have the space and means to care for them, I will not only give them to you free, but drive them to you, as long as you're within at most one or two hours from the city of Buffalo.
However: I'm hoping to find someone to take the whole lot at once. They're not in great shape, because I'm hideously busy, with two part-time teaching positions at different colleges and when I'm not busy, I'm exhausted. I haven't done a lot with them in 2 or 3 months, and although a lot are blooming size, they probably need about 2 years' worth of stable growth now to recover and bloom again. I don't think I can handle going through all my greenbabies and sorting out 5 for one person and 7 or 8 for another, because then I'll have to deal with how crappy a plant parent I've been. I definitely don't want to deal with trying to pack them up and ship them.
If no one speaks up in the next week or so, I'm probably going to donate them to the Erie Co. Botanical Gardens, but I wanted to start here since I know this forum is full of such really cool, orchid-devoted people, and that's where I'd like them to go.
