Feeding Green Tea to Orchids

Hi everyone! So I was reading some articles online on how people make their own plant fertilizers, and I found one site that said green tea (diluted) is a great thing to feed plants.

I would think that the caffeine would dehydrate the orchids, but I was wondering if anyone here has done it before. It seems rather interesting

I use strong tea to marinate beef. I'm not so sure I would use it on my orchids.

I seriously doubt that green tea would have any beneficial affects on orchids. But on the other hand it probably won't cause any harm if you want to experiment with it.

I put used tea bags in my orchids. I figure it is like being in the tree and having decomposed materials washing down over the roots. Don't know if it helps but I figure it cant hurt. I drink green and black tea.

I love to drink black teas, but wouldn't put black, green, or really any beverage I drink - other than tap water - on my orchids.

Don't we all want to make the utmost of the orchids we have? And want to do all sorts of things that might even help them or make them healthy. The best ever tonic for orchids is rain water and keeping the mix as coarse/airy/dense as required by the orchids. I am sure, egg shells/tea/milk/cream/chalk/sugar/honey/marmalade/potatoes/tomatoes/peels/stock etc. are not bad for them either. Provided, they are used in moderate quantities.
