For those feeling cold
Our local temp' here yesterday, 42c = 107.6f. Not far away was 44c = 111.2f. The state just to the west of us recorded a top temp' in the Nth of the state of 47c = 116.6f.
The small Island state of Tasmania had a top temp of 41c = 105.8f, the highest temp ever recorded there. This was in the capital, Hobart which is in the Sth of the state. A multitute of fires broke out. One fire in Tassie has wiped out a town, many homes & out buildings. 1000's of people have had to be evac'd, many by boats on a river or by sea as all the roads are cut & the fire was surrounding everyone. One person missing, thought to have been caught in the fire, unconfirned atm.
Our biggest state fire is at 2040ha or 4488 acres & still going. No major threat to life atm.
Just enjoying a cool easterly breeze now, great relief. Heat returns over the next 7 days, back up to near 40c. Our Nthrn boarder isn't getting this cool, they are looking at around 40c+ for the next 4 -5 days.
My A/C stopped working about 2pm, too hot outside. It worked about 10pm, cool by 2am.
