'Spring' is almost here in S E Asia - the drought and cooler 'winter' months of Dec - Feb are about to end, and this period will herald the blooming of many of our soft cane dendrobiums as well as our vandaceous species and hybrids. Those who have prepared well by withholding watering of these orchids will be well rewarded with a profusion of blooms, but those of us (including myself) who have been tardy or lazy may not be able to enjoy the spring blooms at their best. I have been late in withholding the watering and so, many of my dendrobiums have produced keikis instead of flowers. This is the worst blooming of my Den anosmum 'alba' -only 5 flowers on a single cane!
