Clear beads under leaves of orchid

Hi everyone! So for a while, I've noticed that this phal has had these mysterious clear drops on the crown and the underside of its leaves. I have touched them before, they were not sticky, but hard. When I used a cotton swab with tissues, the gel beads came off, but looked like clear paste on the cotton swab.

The phal has a history of spider mites, but I thought I got rid of them when I repotted it back in January. This is the only phal that has not rebloomed yet, despite being in the same conditions as my others (NYC windowsill, Northern exposure, bark + coco medium mix, 6-30-30 fertilizer).

I am wondering if these mysterious beads should; 1) be of a concern; 2) a possible cause for the rebloom not happening; 3) if it's a concern, what I should do for treatment

if it is like a little brown dome that you can 'pop' and goo comes out, it's a scale. an insect. sucking sap from the plant. they can be hard to get rid of and can spread quickly to other plants they like. any decent bug spray can help get rid of them, but manually wipe the visible ones away. they are the females, the males are microscopic i hear. i use water with some mild dishsoap (not caustic washing machine detergent) for bugspray. heavy infestations can be dipped in rubbing alcohol after cleaning them up and then potting in new bark.

Hey! No, they're not brown. I tried to "pop it" but it wouldn't pop. They are hard beads. When I used an alcohol swab to wipe it away, the gel was still clear, and it looks like clear glue on my cotton swab. So I don't think it's scale :/

I would suspect that the leaf was damaged and what you are seeing is drying sap that leaked out from the damage. Hopefully, there are no insects causing further damage.

Phals can develop clear sugary drops on the underside of leaves in a high light situation as an excess of sugars produced during photosynthesis. Sometimes they are reabsorbed by the plant and sometimes they harden into clear drops like you describe. This might be what it is. You can taste, if so inclined, to see if they are sweet.

Hmm, okay! I also looked at some of my other phals, and they had the same little clear droplets under the leaves (but not as much as this one). Does anyone here also see anything else that's wrong with this phal, that is causing it not to rebloom? I guess this isn't the reason for it

It looks healthy. Did it get enough of a temperature drop in the fall?
