Re-flower on old spike?

I acquired a brassidium (Gilded Urchin) as a giveaway at the local club. All flowers had dropped but the 3 ft long spike was still present. 3 months later, the spike is still green and flexible with no signs of drying. Any possibility that it might provide me with another round of flowers on the old spike sometime in the future?

No, it will not bloom again on the same spike, Bob. Sorry. You can cut it off about an inch above where it leaves the plant and seal the cut or wait for it to turn brown and cut it off. Brassidium orchids bloom on new growth each season.

Thanks BD. That was my assumption but was hoping I was wrong. Will patiently (still learning patience) await the next time it spikes.
