Too much sun on doritis champorensis orchid??

This picture is of my newly acquired doritis champorensis. I put it outside with my dendrobium which loves it location. But I saw it's leaves turning black and brown and yellow. What is the problem? Too much sun, too little water? Also, any other information on this type of orchid is welcome; I'm new to them.

Does indeed look like sunburn. Doritis are similar to Phalaenopsis in their light requirements and can not handle direct sun, especially in the hottest part of the day. Find a shaded location with bright, indirect light.
Water the plant thoroughly and then do not water again until the plant is nearly dry, but keep the plant more hydrated while a bloom spike is developing. You may lose some of the leaves that were burned and you may have to cut parts of them off if they start to rot. I use a single edge razor blade. Dust the cut edges with powdered cinnamon or a fungicide. The damaged leaves will not recover, but, given proper care, the plant will produce healthy new leaves to take their place, and the plant will recover.

Just observe if no other activity on the damage leaves dont touch it keep the plant under 50% shade spray the water, adequate fertilizer the plant later will produce new leave.

Yes, sun damage. Lower light levels are advisable. The damaged leaves will never 'heal'. The plant will grow new leaves. I hope you update us with the bloom photos when this orchid blooms. Looks like it is well on its way!

Very good advice given by all. You probably know this, but be patient with the growth/healing process. As new healthy leaves develop, the plant will get rid of the damaged leaves one by one. It takes quite sometime usually, but one day will discover a 'like new' plant in your midst..........................AL
