I haven't heard of this type blooming twice a year. In fact, they can be difficult to bloom from what I'd heard before. For some unknown reason mine has decided to grace me with another bud already. It bloomed in June this summer so I'm not sure why it's doing this again so soon. And I've included a picture of the roots. This plant has the bumpiest roots!
Also, the flowers are normally slow growing. In spite of the fact I only found the bud yesterday, it looks nearly ready to open. Several plants have surprised me with buds or spikes that i'd missed recently. The last picture is from today. You can see it is beginning to open.

My two are literally tiny weeny babies in comparison to this magnificent specimen. I bet it is glorious when in bloom! Out of interest, how old is it?
