Can someone please tell me how I can get young plants from my strap vanda do they bare kikis or do I have to cut it back, it is a bit too short to cut back, it is the Moh Chao Phraya Classic Bankok Gold that I had posted some time ago, the plant is about ten inches tall and has just finished flowering since August, I would really love to know if I can ever get a plant from this one or should I wait until it gets older?

i wait until they get tall and leggy looking, with some roots higher up the stem, so that the top i cut off already is rooted. you also need a few leaves at the top of the lower portion, to carry the plant until it forms new branches. then after the new sprouts develop some roots, i can detach them. i have a mokara (i assume) that i have done this with several times now.
