Hello, everyone.
Yesterday was a sad day, a beautiful, heirloom, original division orchid that was given to me several months ago had to be trashed; C guttata leopoldii ' Orchidglade'. The first sign was an immediate infestation of scale and mealybugs. Because it was an heirloom, I though I would try to save at least three pseudobulbs, but when I made the division it was apparent that the wilt had set in and the plant was salvageable. Needless to say, everything is being sanitized...and I mean everything.
Thank goodness for the resources on the internet so I could properly diagnose the issue. Now, I am treating the surrounding plants for mealys, but I think I caught it in time.
Chris
