Quite an interesting coloration for a den. Don't believe I've ever seen one with that color pattern before.

Nice delicate coloring. It does resemble a Cattleya more than most Dendrobiums do, partly because it is peloric, like a splash-petal Cattleya. The petals have taken on some of the color and texture of the lip, giving them pattern and waviness not usually seen in this type of Dendrobium.

Bill, I just find myself drawn to this one, and I sit and stare a few minutes each day.

Thank you for that info, Kirk. I've always been wondering about its parentage and how it came to look like this. But it never occured to me that it could be peloric. Anyway, I don't think I'd be able to tell if an orchid were peloric even if i see one. If it is so, then that explains why it looks unique.

Thanks, Connie. It is very pretty. It even has the fluffiness of some catts. And the flowers are on the large side for a dend.

That's what my friends are saying too, that it does not look like your everyday dendrobium. At first I didn't even notice all those patterns of color. It was the form that first caught my eye.
