    Talking Paph Val Ablaze

My new, massive paph Val Ablaze (Flame Freezing x Valred) flower has opened, maybe as fully open as it gets. The 2nd bud is right beneath the open flower preventing the labellum from dropping into the normal position. The synsepal isn't visible due to the same issue. And would also provide more color contrasts if visible.

If the flower opens better, I will add another view.

I bought the plant without any knowledge of what the flower looked like because the massive size and the health and overall beauty of the foliage. It drew me in and snagged me. The name also seemed to indicate a colorful bloom.

I am very pleased with the orchid.

Here are a couple more shots of the Val Ablaze. I wish the synsepal was more visible.

The second image has a partial view of the synsepal. It's a light green color and has white outlined, purple 'bumps' (I don't know the technical name) on the edge. It matches the color of the dorsal. That 'bump' is duplicated on the opposite edge.
