Yes, I did purchase a cool growing plant while living in Zone 9 location. However, I figured I could grow it under artificial light in a enclosed patio that does not get above the the 80"s. I also thought I could grow it in my kitchen where it would get indirect sunlight. I was wondering what type of potting mix I should use? In the picture it shows that it is in what appears to medium coconut husks? Maybe not. But whatever it is, I would like to change it into a clear plastic pot and some other potting mix. Please give me suggestions!!!

I don't know anything about this specific plant, but it looks like the media is in good shape. If its not growing new roots, I'd leave it where it is until its actively growing. Too much messing with unnecessary potting is pretty hard on orchids. It's a very nice and happy looking plant!

If you have a window that gets morning and afternoon sun...say on a table with a sheer curtain between it and the window? That particular type get treated much like a phal. You can tell they are getting too much sun if it gets black freckles and not enough if the leaves are too green and you don't get spikes. They like the same temps you do, so if you are cold or hot the plant probably is too. Water when the pot begins to feel light. You might want to look up the name to see if it likes more or less water than a typical oncidium. Best of luck, I am sure it will be okay as long as you keep it away from your a/c vents, and slowly move it towards light until you feel the color is good. I look forward to seeing it in bloom someday....
