Sarcochilus is a vandaceous genus ; a fact not easily recognised since it is normally show as a potful with dozens of growths and the same number of spikes. When I was studying the vandaceous genera generally, and trying to get as many as I could - a few years ago, I did not even recognise Sarco' as one. I did finally learn ( after I lost a lot of my Vandas in my bad period a year or two ago,) and having subsequently changed my reenhouse conditions for cooler ones, wanted to add this plant. But Australian orchids are nigh impossible to buy in UK - the dealers don't come here. But I found this plant in a Society sale, in poor condition ; it quickly recovered with a bit of TLC, and has two spikes on its only mature growth, but has already started two more growths . How long to being a specimen ? Watch this space, but don't hold your breath!±
