Hi Everyone,
Last April I had a rootless phal that I successfully got to grow three roots with this board's help. Two of the roots have survived (one was eaten by something but see no active issues). Neither one of the roots grew down into the medium (sphagnum) and instead coursed over the pot or grew straight up.
The plant was moved to a bark medium about 5 months ago.
I have noticed that" RW "often looks dehydrated so I have started misting the leaves in the morning and its two roots when they look dry. Each month I use Quantum Orchid and SuperThrive to try to get it to send out more roots.
I have also tried misting the bark in hopes the plant may send down a root.
All of my other orchids are sending out new leaves and/or roots right now so I am not sure if there is anything else that I can try to do for my slow learner. Is just more patience the key, do I need to stop the misting of the leaves and only mist the two roots in a "sink or swim" technique? Should I try brief soaks of the plant in Superthrive? Right now it just sits propped up in the medium. I am hesitant to go back to moss for fear of rotting in this humid climate.
Any ideas?
