My rescued NoID yellow vanda is blooming!
I got this vanda back in mid-July from someone (a non-orchid person) who didn't want it any more because it wasn't blooming!! She had apparently gotten it as a gift some time ago and didn't even remember what color it was. I happily took it off of her hands and hung it under a loquat tree in my side yard. This tree is home to a few of my orchids (two mounted phals (were already in place when we moved in 15 years ago), two vandas, and two catt hybrids in slatted baskets). All are flourishing in the direct morning sun and late afternoon sun that they get.
I noticed the spike on this vanda a few weeks ago, and this morning I saw that the buds had started to open (none were open yesterday)!
