ALL the Catasetinae are waking up!

I only took pictures of a few, but ALL of my Catasetinae have begun their new growths at once!

Hopefully this year brings plenty of blooms. Full list of all Catasetinae types I grow at this point, they're seriously becoming my obesession:

I managed to rot some of the roots out on my Fdk. After Dark by watering it too early. Lesson learned!
At least it was on an easy to find one, not one of the more valuable ones.

The fastest growing by FAR is the buccinator surprisingly. It's growing faster than any other orchid I've grown so far.

Very cool! Thinking about adding a few of these. Are you growing them in straight sphagnum?

Mine are also waking up.

All of mine but one have new growth and roots starting too.

I see the same in mine also, I un-pot mine each fall and remove the media. I have already repotted 3 of them as the new growth is large enough to be potted and fertilized and watered. I did not use sphagnum last year and did not have as many bloom but this year they are all getting put in sphagnum as the year before they all bloomed!

At the last count just over half of mine had new growths, but the biggest is less than2 cm high, and no new roots yet. Mine are in an extra heated enclosure inside my greenhouse, with an intended night temperature of 18 and day minimum of 22 - with a bit of sunshine it should soon be up to 25 ( inside the greenhouse ) ,but Spring is not really here yet. I say intended, because I am having some problems with a new pattern of thermostat, and keep overshooting or undershooting every time I try to reset.

Yes! Some came with packing peanuts in the bottom of the pots so I moved them to shorter pots and removed the peanuts.

Yes! Some came with packing peanuts in the bottom of the pots so I moved them to shorter pots and removed the peanuts.

They put peanut on purpose, it gives extra drainage so bottom moss dont stay too wet.
