Trichoglottis brachiata

This is the second year that this orchid has bloomed for me. I don't understand why but this year I will only have 10 blooms, last year I had 24-26 blooms. I have no idea why this has happened as it is in the same place this year that it was in last year with the same amount of sunlight, the only thing I can come up with is the tree that it is under might be a little thicker in foliage than last year. I do miss the large quantity of blooms but I am still very happy with what I got!

It's so pretty! If you remember last month I posted that I only had 3 buds this year and they were chewed off! So enjoy the fragrance for me!

Thanks Sheryl! If I did not have sinus problems I would enjoy the fragrance, about the only time my nose works is when I am burning something in the kitchen, and usually when I smell that it is ruined as it has burnt so badly.

Looks awesome Jack. what I have observed is that certain species would have a lower number of blooms every 2-3 years. May be weather or may be nutrition or a combination not sure. I am sure it would do better next season

I'm thinking the aspect of light and others as mention by Sriram anyway at least I would be very happy the flowers is there and you enjoy it.

Not sure how old Jack but blooming size. Got it this year and it is in bud. Hopefully the rain drowned some of the earwigs that have been eating my flower buds all summer. Lost all of them on a Den. braianense last week.

Either the pictures are better or the flowers are better even if fewer than last year! Looks great!
