Dendrobium superbum Gift!

Here is the Dendrobium superbum keiki gift that I received from kind Mr Harvey all the way from US. (Thank you very much Mr Harvey!). I think it has passed critical times after losing few leaves. Looking quite okay now. I could use some advice on watering, light, etc.

Wow. I would suggest you mount it. You could stop fertilizing after October.

I have not use any fertilizer yet. What about the light? Actually I put at a shady place. I place it at a brighter place just to take pics.

Glad to see it is recovering. I thought since it gets almost no water during the dry rest (normal temps, not cool) it had a chance of surviving the transit.

Will it live inside or outside? I tend to water a bit more when outside but I live in semi-arid conditions. I would let it dry lightly between waterings when inside.

And you are quite welcome! A coming home of sorts for the Den superbum. Is native to your part of the world.

Technically hanging outside (outside the window) but full shade. Yup, I do let it dry slightly before watering. Should I give fertilizer?

I quit fertilizing at the beginning of October to prepare for no water beginning the end of the month. I am northern hemisphere though. I don't know if that makes a difference for its new location.

I think I will use very diluted fertilizer. Maybe I will try mounting on a strong wood as Sriram suggested, when the growth is more vigorous.

It hung at the bottom of my hanging Neofinetia rack after I potted it in the 1 inch net pot. And I did give it a little fertilizer during my time with it.

The mother plant is in bark.
