Need help with spots on flowers

My flowers are starting to curl and have light brown spots on them. There is one really big spot which is a little darker in color, but the other flowers have small little specks on them. I am not too sure what this is, i.e. it needs more sunlight, less sunlight air movement, etc. i need some help.

How long have they been blooming? I'm wondering if it just flower old age?

My inital thought was water and a lack of air movement.But having a closer look at the photoI am seeing damage to the edges of both the flowers that are in the
photo.
I am thinking that there are a number of factors involed---
(1 )the edges of the flowers have been damaged by something , pehaps when it was transported
(2)at some stage the humidity was high and there wasnt enough air movement
(3)the age of the flowers , they are on there way out

I agree, it could be any of these; however, My first guess would be perhaps a snail. Snails have a raspy tongue and the markings (at least on the top flower) look as if the damage follows a repeating pattern. Snails will move along and eat in a line. So, this could be the problem. The flower stem does not look that old (color is still green/white and looks fairly plump) so I suspect it is not just the age of the bloom, but I am still learning about these amazing flowers everyday. This is just my two cents...

I just got the plant about two months ago and it was a gift so i am not sure how long the flowers have been blooming. one flower fell about two or so weeks ago, but the plant looked normal then and the flowers were curling so i thought they were all just ready to fall. then lately this spotting has been going on and i also have a new bud, so i am really confused.

No need to apologize, Kris! We've all got started at some point, the same as you.

If you don't see any slime trails across your diningroom table, then you're safe from slugs! As you've described it, I'm betting the flowers are simply finished blooming.

When Phals bloom, the first buds to open are at the bottom of the flower spike, and they squentially open moving up the spike. The bottom-most are usually the first to fade, but not always. And several may fade at once. They don't always take polite turns. It also not unusual for buds to continue to develop off the leading tip of the spike after the first round of bloomers have dropped. Sort of like, Act II. You don't usually get as many blooming as you did the first time if this happens.

As you can see it's quite variable. But if the flowers looked great for a while, and the spotting only started as some of the flowers began to fade, then it's probably just their time.

Indoor Phals are very sturdy. Don't overwater it, give it good light and fertilize every couple of weeks, and you'll be a pro in no time!

If it turns out to be a snail, it could simply have been living in the pot. There may not be any slime trails out of the pot if he is happy inside!
