    Default Worm

    Found this in my phlox today. About 4 1/2" long. So fast moving and agile it could swing half its body around in the blink of an eye and move onto another leaf in a couple of seconds. I'm guessing that two days of rain brought it out from hiding. Anyone got a name?

    So its a Nematomorpha or Gordiacea, common name is horsehair worm. Horsehair worms are parasites on insects especially grasshoppers, crickets, and beetles. Hopefully there are a lot of them out there and they'll kill off the lily beetles.
