Dendrobium pachyphyllum

Found the single bud on this yesterday and it opened last night or this morning. Blooming is triggered by a cold shower and only takes a few days to develop. I've read that the flower will only last the day so thought I'd git it while the gittin's good. Smells a little like honey/roses/poop? Hopefully next time there'll be a few more.

Cute, too bad it does not last long. As to the smell with my sinuses I wouldn't have to worry about the fragrance, it does help from time to time.

I've got one of these. It seems to put out a single bloom now and then, and does a bigger display maybe once a year. Don't know if it necessarily needs the cold shower to bloom, I have it in my terrarium where it gets warm temperatures and bright light. It's a really easy grower, just wish the blooms lasted longer!
