Yes, the name is correct , surprisingly. Most of the grex (Golden Tang) are indeed yellow, some of them look to be a wonderful colour ( will look out for them ! ), but an award was given in Brazil for a collection of at least six plants of the grex, all different, and two of which approached the colour shown here, although paler. It was a CAOB ( Cattleya Alliance of Brazil ? ) award, rather similar ( I imagine) to one award which the AOS give as an award of quality for a hybrid when a number are shown together all of high standard. When awarded - which the cross has been, many times, the average is 4 or 5 flowers per spike. Mine is of course a first flowering on a young plant.
The unusual generic combination, abbreviated to Rbda comes from crossing a Rlc (Waikiki Gold, with a Bc (Richard Mueller ). It is what I call a medium sized flower - 4 inches across, natural spread.
