AliFlor vs PrimeAgra???

Hi All,

I can get AliFlor locally, have to mail order/ship Primeagra. I have about eight plants switched over to S/H with Primeagra as the potting medium....all but one are doing great and the one is an oncid that I should have waited to move until I saw root growth.

Anyway, I'd like to move a few more.....has anyone got any advice about whether the Primeagra is that much better (worth mail ordering) than the AliFlor?

Not in my humble opinion. However Primeagra might settle in tighter becuase it is not perfectly round, so Aliflor will provide more air, but slightly less water wicking action (nothing noticable I think, at least not to a human).

I am not familiar with aliflor but I have used "geolite" which is apparently similar to "hydroton"--perfectly round pellets, very buoyant too. I switched to primeagra and, while I don't know if the plants really appreciate it, I certainly did. Better wicking and the medium actually stays down, presumably allowing the plant to establish better. that geolite stuff was just floating away every time i watered.
