    Default Paphiopedilum urbanianum

I can't take any credit for this one as I bought it along with a couple of other orchids at the Sydney Orchid Spectacular, which is a new annual show here in Sydney.

    Paphiopedilum urbanianum

This species is endemic to the island of Mindoro in the Philippines. It was named after a renowned orchid personality in that country, a Mrs Jacinta Urban, by Fowlie in 1981.

Very nice - kinda looks like it was made of the dorsal of a green maud, the petals and sepal of a coloratum and an elongated pouch of a venastum..

Thanks Diane... I had one already but once I saw this with a flower, thought, I'd get another... after all one can never have enough 'slippers'.

Jordan, I guess the slippers are now the genera I am focussing on... I just really like the diversity and 'oddness' of the flower shape... yet still quite appealing... some like the pink Paph delenatii can even be described as beautiful!

Of course, after saying that.. what I bought were a fair mix of stuff...

Pat, the list is as follows:-
    Paph villosum
    Paph armeniacum x anitum
    Paph delenatii
    Phrag bessae
    Phrag Memoria Dick Clements
    Sarcochilus ceciliae (alba)
    Cymbidium erythrostylum
    Cymbidium eburneum
    Cymbidium sinense (variegated)
    Cymbidium floribundum

also, got a Neofinetia falcata 'Antonias Pink' today from a local grower, so it has been some buying spree this weekend...
