    I'm getting ready to upload this photo of my dad to the WWII memorial site. Need to get opinions on how clear it looks, this is a scanned copy of the original photo that my dad gave my mom. Taken in 1940. Hope it is okay, they have very tight restrictions on file sizes....

    What a great shot, Diane! And what a cutie your dad is...er, a...was!

    Web based photos don't benefit from high res anyway, so no need to send a big honking file. That clarity looks absolutely fine. If the file is small enough, I'd just go with that.

    Well, I wasn't really hitting on him...more just wishing I could. But my time travel practice is very rusty, and I doubt I'd want to tangle with your mom back then. Probably best staying put in this time zone!

    Great picture, Diane! And glad your dad is doing so good. What plane did he fly? Was he in the Army Air Corp or Navy? Darwin's dad was in the AAC flying navigator in B-17s.

    He wound up in the AAC - he was a Flying Tiger to start - fighter pilot. (he couldn't imagine having to just sit in a bomber getting shot at! he tells funny stories about bomber crews.....)
