Brassia re-pot

This was so much work, I had to post a picture. I finally repotted my monster Brassia. It took upwards of two hours and more tugging and pulling than logging competition. I used a combo of bark and moss, with styrofoam in the bottom. My other monster Brassia seems to be happy in this combo. It took forever to find an orchid pot that was big enough, pretty enough and inexpensive. I should have taken a pic of the plant once I got it out of its plastic pot. Talk about root-bound. There was hardly any potting medium left. Well, now she has a permenant home. I expect she will sulk for a little while, but here's hoping she likes her new apartment.

What is the width of that pot so we can get a reference on the plant size?

Fabulous job Kitty! Easy to see why it was such a big job! I really like the looks of the pot you found. How many spikes are you getting on a plant this size? I have a much smaller brassia that has become one of my favorite orchids, and I am wondering what to expect.

The pot has a 12 inch diameter at the top. The last blooming cycle gave me seven spikes, one didn't make it. I have counted up to forty pseudobulbs, then I stopped because I couldn't tell if I had counted them once or twice. She's a big girl! I've posted pics before of her in her plastic pot. I'll see if I can put one here so you can see what I was dealing with. I managed to save most of the aerial roots (and there were TONS). I hope they take to the new medium.
