NOID Phal

Just a NOID phal but it blooms almost all year around....I should probably cut this stalk as I've been fighting stupid mealies on the plant and it could probably use a rest, but thought I'd let these two flowers open and enjoy them for a bit, the leaves/rest of the plant look pretty good. It's been in S/H since early last summer.

That's a very sweet bloom, I like the contrast with the hint of yellow on the petals behind the deep pink speckles.

The length of blooming is what makes me keep getting more phals from the supermarket (must stop I know - running out of room), they cheer me up.

What do you use on the mealies, does the treatment stress the plant at all?

Mostly just insecticidal soap...and I sure don't think the treatment stresses the plant at all. It's just been blooming almost nonstop for over a year, plus has these dumb insects, so probably could use a rest.

Very pretty ! I love the colors . There is a spray made by Bayer (blue bottle) that is supposed to protect for 30 days , no smell that I can detect I use is on plants that have been outside with no ill effects . Gin

I don't think it will hurt the plant. You should treat it with insecticidal soap and kill the little nasties before they move to another plant in your collection.

Great color, I like the hint of yellow around the edges!

Plain rubbing alcohol kills mealies, too. I've never doused a plant, just used the qtip method or eyedropper method. Hate those fuzzy little buggers. They look like evil tribbles.
