Phal w/ heat stroke

My big beautiful Amiblis x Aphrodite, along with my other 'chids, had to go out on the porch while I was gone for a couple days. Upon return, it had turned hot and badly humid. When I moved them back in I noticed the leading top leaf has fallen over with some red at the base which usually means too much sun I think. I propped the leaf up, in a few days should it recover? Should I let it lay over and hope for the best? I'll enclose a picture of it before the leaf fell....

I'd prop it up just to make myself feel better. Just watch for signs of worsening sun burn. It should recover. Orchids are usually tougher than we give them credit for...

Is the top leaf still turgid? If so, it was probably "reaching" for the light as phals grown in windowsills often do. If the leaf is stiff, there probably really isn't anything to worry about.

As for the red coloration, it just might be too bright, especially for a phal in bloom. The blooms on my phals last longer when they are out of the hot windowsill sun but still in good indirect light.

How about a close up of the leaf in question? That may help.

My big leaf is standing up on it's own after only one day propped up. In fact, now that I have my "windowsill" group back into the air conditioned comfort of the house they look great. Even my potinaras are leaf up today, and they never do that. They have looked sad since I won them at last months meeting. Must have been the extra watering they got before I brought them inside to cool off.
