first bloomer...hopefully more flowers next blooming (3 years from now if I'm lucky). not the best colored--'Rex' is notoriously pale.

Registered in 1897, Paph. Lady Isabel is the primary hybrid between two of the most magnificent species in the genus. It is quite distinctive in its own right, and produces very large flowers on tall inflorescences. The rothschildianum parent contributes the boldly-striped dorsal, and the stonei parent produces the white base color. Petals are usually downswept, although a few cultivars may hold them as horizontal as the rothschildianum parent. Plants are easy to cultivate given strong diffuse light, even moisture, and intermediate temperatures, but tend to grow slowly. A new growth may take several years to mature, and blooming is facilitated by a cool, drier winter rest period.

Jason, I agree it is a stunning clone you have. I like the dark ones and the light ones. It is the in between ones that I don't care for. After a couple of years of maturity they tend to bloom annually, mine does.

Very very nice indeed! I like this pale one as well, then again, I like all of them... give me anything with a pouch... but I digress, this has very lovely marking on the dorsal!
