    Default Phal 'lava glow'

'Lava Glow' is my smallest and most brightly coloured phal, which we got a while back from a box store. 'Lava Glow' is a patented plant by Twyford, but the grex Lava Glow is not in the orchid registry so the breeding history is unknown to me. So it's really a NoID to me.
This is a space saving phal, but it isn't as floriferous as the others. Past bloomings it gave spikes that were vertical but this time it is almost horizontal. I should have staked it. Lighting is changed since then. The past bloomings lighting was higher and the vertical spikes had blooms facing in every direction so it looked like a cluster.

Murgdan has another plant with the clonal name 'Lava Glow' applied to it but it is a much larger plant. This one doesn't have patent and has a known breeding background.

The flowers do look exactly the same as mine, though mine is anything but a space saver---and she's still going! No matter the history you gotta love that red!

Gorgeous! Love the color contrast on your wall, too, Cindy...

I bet that's pale enough that my apt complex wouldn't mind if I painted my orchid room that nice, soothing, mellow color.... Eggshell white gets on my nerves after a short while.

... And now my mind is wandering the home decor possibilities... so I'll probably be flipping through online home improvement/decor stores soon.... (And spending more money - My SO is out of town all next week... hehehehe...)
