greenhouse location

we are looking to move our orchids off the porch & into a more controlled environment.

We are located in orlando, fl or zone 9.

i can place a greenhouse in the sun ,10am to 4pm, or in full shade all day.

the concerns i have w/ it being in the sun are
keeping cool enough during the summer
how much covering we will have to have to knock down the brightness?

in the shade
adequate light.
also there was once an old shed w/ a concrete slab in a little bit less shaded area. however the slab maybe smaller than what we want limit our selves to.

I'd go with full sun. If you use plastic you can leave it off in summer and use shade cloth. In a glass house I'd use fans and shade cloth. My OH has a green house for his plants,(not orchids) and he uses plastic off in summer and an auto fan. We're located on the gulf in the panhandle. My chids are on stands out in full sun with shade cloth all summer. Why not visit some local growers and ask for advice. Most houses up here are plastic, I know of one glass grower and she shades heavily and moves a lot outside in summer.(about 1000 chids). Also has BIG fans.

Our GH is in full sun and we use heavy shade cloth during the summer. In your area, you could probably do full sun as well.
