    Unhappy Could this one survive?

On my way home from work today I spotted this little gem in a grocery store window, just couldn't resist. I just hope this one survives as my past record with phals is very poor,.....I've killed 'em all!

Gorgeous! I love that shade of almost blue. As for your past record, if you got the other ones at a grocery store too, they probably didn't get the best care there and may have had problems already when you purchased them. Even if you purchased them at a greenhouse, we all have our orchid ups and downs. We all have ones that do better in our particular region and home. Either way, if I were you and saw a beauty like that, I'd want to try again too. I hope it brings you many years of beautiful blooms!

I totally agree. Good luck and may this little phal reward you with lots and lots of blooms! It is beautiful.

Grocery Store or Gas Station, I'd have snapped this up too. Beautiful!

Thanks for all your words of encouragement, unfortunately I didn't buy the others at a grocery store. I pass this particular store twice a day, so it could only have arrived 1 or 2 hours before I saw it. I'll take this as a good omen and pray that it takes lessons from my paphs which are doing ok

    LOL Let's hope so!

This is just a reminder 'cause I'm sure you already know it, but phals generally do not like to be watered as often as paphs do. That said, let me again wish you the best with this new beauty.

It's another noid I'm afraid, not that I mind. I have checked the roots this morning and found them quite tightly packed in sphagnum. Would you recommend repotting into loose bark while it's blooming?
