Taking care of Gongora maculata

Hi everyone! I'm new here and I have a question. I would like to purchase a Gongora maculata orchid plant. Although I've never owned these before and dont know if they need any kind of specific care/needs. I was wondering if anyone on here might be able to help me? Thank you!

Well as I am not sure regarding your specific choice, gongora culture should all be similar. Here is a good starting point:

Temps: These are cool growers from my understanding and will do well in temps between 50 - 70° F. Keep them in moderate shade to heavy shade. No direct sun.

Fertilizer: The like to eat like most others. Feed 1/4 of the recommended mixture once a week or at the minimum once every two weeks.

Water: They like to drink when growing, so keep them moist. Once the pesudobulbs are mature, cut back on the water.

Potting: These should be potted in an open basket (grid) type hanging pot. They bloom from below and need a way to 'get out of the pot'. The medium should be something you can keep moist. I recommend a smaller to medium bark mix with a bit of sphag. I wouldn't pot them in sphag completely as if allowed to dry out too much, the sphag is harder to 'get wet' again than bark mix.
