My first Gongora spike for 3 years ;2 ½ years ago I had a disaster in my greenhouse leading to heat damage which destroyed a lot of plants, or damaged them to a point where I junked them. I think this was the only Gongora I rescued out of the 7 or 8 species I had, and this is its first flowering since. Now quite a nice , good-sized plant, should do several spikes next time around, or maybe just more spikes but at shorter intervals.
Very strange flowers, are they not ? They even have different names for the flower parts, instead of petals, sepals, etc , but at the moment I don't remember what they are.
Now that I am reminded of their existence, I will have to look out for a few more of different kinds.
