Hanging Dendrobium

This lovely and delicate dendrobium blooms once a year, quite spectacular; the blooms (about 1.5 inches in diam.) appear like a cluster of grapes when the plant has no leaves. Would anyone know it's name? Enjoy!

I would cast my vote with Dawn. I have a D. aphyllum and it's getting ready to bloom. Can you detect a fragrance? Mine smells like clean laundry. Yours is very pretty!

Yes, thanks for the tip! I looked it up and indeed it seems to be dend. aphyllum.
As to fragrance, yes, and I would say it smells like fresh honey in a pot!!!

Looks like pierardii to me as well. Its new name is Dend Cucullatum.

I do like how the blooms hang down like that. I checked ISOPE and Dend cucullatum is very similar, only yours has such a full and wide lip. I wonder if it is just a culture difference or if this is actually something different but similar?

I found this online:

"Dendrobium cucullatum also called D. pieardii or D. aphyllum is native to eastern Asia and the islands between there and Australia including Sumatra, Maldive islands, Borneo, Java, and Malaysia, among many. It's a deciduous species that requires a dry winter rest with no fertilizer to stimulate blooming."

meh, what's in a name!?! I found this one after a google search for den. aphyllum. The lip is fuller than my plant.

Bruce, someone on another orchid site thinks it's a dendrobium primulinum and photos on Google
do match just like some under den. aphyllum do....... now I am totally confused! Any experts here?
