It is the newest leaf opened on a Strelitzia nicolai (white form) which is commonly called the Bird of Paradise. Most people are familiar with the orange form (which I also have). That is a Bird of Paradise plant? Whoa, its Big!! I thought its a banana plant..lol.

Very nice Brassia, Matt. I have a question though. Why is it that your Brassia and other people's Brassia are in bloom now in Spring, while mine don't bloom until late summer to Autumn? Sorry but mine is just a division acquired a long time ago and it has no tag but the flowers are similar to pictures of Brassia rex I have seen.
