Lovely, and your plant maintenance routine, bestill my heart but we are soulmates since I, too, am ever so neglectful and careless of my orchids and yet they still reward me time and again with blooms. - martha

ok...I'm trying one of these after viewing your plant, Shane. In all my 25 plus years of growing orchids I have never tried Paphs. I don't know if I should thank you or shake my fist at you![]()

Wow!! superb just love the colours on this...wonderful photos to![]()
shake your fist!! shake it!! like i said, this has been on a bathroom window sill, lots of sun all day through textured glass/ mosquito screen, in the shower area so humidity is a given, no drainage, just a splash of fish shit water every week or so...hot ass summers and moderate winters... i think we had a relatively early 'cool' spell (not upper 90's) that may have been the key...for all these years ive just been happy it didnt die! i did always say that if i got it to flower i would venture to buy another, more tedious one... we'll see!
I've waited longer than five years for a bloom...heck! I'm still waiting on a few that are as old as the hills![]()
*is laughing in Florida
Saw this one facebook this morning and loved the photos, Shane. This orchid obviously decided that you win!! Hahaha... Fun story and beautiful slipper orchid bloom.
I have a phrag that only blooms once ever 10 years or so. Talk about a wait! The plant just sits on the bench growing and I keep hoping for a bloom again. It last bloomed in 2006 just in time for ORCHIDS THROUGH OUR EYES and the bloom is featured on the title page of the book because I loved it so much.
cheers,

Very nice, Shane - we photographed mine about 100 times, and from every angle as well. You got some great shots! If you want to cut down on the number of shote you have to take, you might want to hang a black or neutral background - it helps to separate it from all the other plants around it. Just a thought - your pics are great just as they are.
