So when I bought this phrag a few weeks ago, I was told this was a spike. It continues to look like a leaf to me, with no "double leaf" appearance. I thought I would ask you guys for your opinion. Not that I will love my plant any less... : )

From the pic it appears to be a new leaf. Nice looking plant and a new leaf gets you closer to a bloom. I bet by this time next year you will be posting a pic of a bloom that will make me/us drool. It appears in your pic that there is a new growth starting at the very base of plant on right.. We love new growrhs. Yeah!
Hard to tell from your photograph of this orchid, but it certainly could be a spike. Phrags spike from the center of the new growth and it looks similar to a new leaf at first.I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. AND, if it turns out to be just new growth, then you still will eventually get a spike, as that orchid looks pretty healthy to me.
cheers,

Like Bruce said, it could be a spike. When I got my first phrag and was told it was in spike I didn't believe the grower since it looked like a new leaf to me. Lo and behold, it's a HUGE spike right now haha. Crossing my fingers for you!
Mine for reference:

It's funny, as a newbie I always thought orchids would be "too difficult", but I actually enjoy fussing over my phrag a bit. It actually has three new growths! One on each side of the base of the plant, and a teeny one that isn't visible on the pic! Thank you so much for your input! I suppose time will tell...
Good luck Katherine. Patience is what is called for. I have been waiting for months to see if I have a spike on one of my Phrags. It turns out that it is in low spike. I shall have to wait about another four or five months before I see the blooms although not all Phrags are slow growers though. Hope you soon find out if you have one on the way. I see two new growths too. Well done.
