Unusual temperatures

I am always talking about my temperate weather, with summer highs reaching 70-ish. But we had near 82 yesterday and more of the same today. I can't raise the humidity above 40 % I hope this doesn't last. Any suggestions? I don't have air conditioning because we don't get these temperatures. I am not so worried, I think about the temp as he humidity.

we also hit 82 yesterday...but only mid 70's today...It has been a beautiful last few days!!

You might want to consider investing in a room humidifier--you can run it when you need to temporarily raise rh. I bought one last fall and used it regularly during the winter heating season. I keep the rh at 60 or above.
My plants are doing great and I think they appreciate it. Of course, if your plants are grouped together they will create their own humidity to a certain extent.

Usually I have humidity over 60 %, this was so odd...I think the heat has adjusted, it is much cooler this evening and windy.

My orchids are in an east facing sunroom I put a small humidifier in there and a fan is circulating the air nicely but not directly blowing on any of them. All mine are thriving ! I move my masde and milt in the bathroom at night cuz the floor is really cool then put them back in sunroom during the daylight hours

I use 'cool air' humidifer's as being the most efficient. By the way I remember back in 2003 (I believe) when it hit 99 degrees F. in Newport OR. A older gentlemen told me at the time that it was last that hot in like 1949.....................AL

Thanks Al, I am not going to invest in any equiptment for now. The heat has settled back to NP 60. i'll see what global warming has to offer this summer. If we have weird spikes again I may have to invest in something, but again i don't want lichen growing from the chandelier!
