Phal in spike-question about temperatures

We just picked up a beautiful phal that is spiking right now. It was in the outside area of the nursery in the out of bloom area. I recently read that the buds on the phals cannot be exposed to temperatures below 60 degrees. Is this true? The spikes are only about 4 to 5 inches long, and I only see bumps for the buds so far.

Once the buds start forming they need to be kept reasonably warm. I would expect that you have put the plant inside now so that it will accimate to the indoor conditions before the buds are too mature.
